Yesterday, Rob and I signed the lease on an apartment in the Ukranian Village that is less that two miles from his new job. It’s the second floor of a 1913 building, which is on the historic registry. We move in on May 1st.

SWEET! I love it! Go you guys!
It makes me very happy to have a place to land.
Oh, wow. That looks beautiful!
And yay that you’re now here in the midwest! 🙂
Well, ALMOST in the midwest. We still have to do that pesky drive from Portland, but at least we know where we’ll be living when we get there.
Looks lovely. Some really nice churches in that area of Chicago.
I’ve been exploring Google Streetview and have seen some scroll past.
Good Luck and Best Wishes with your new place.
Thank you.
That looks gorgeous!
I am impressed.
Oh, Mary! It looks beautiful! Much happiness and long life in it to you both!
Simply gorgeous. Congratulations to you and Rob!
Wow that looks like one fabulous apartment! Congrats!
Beautiful! I love the kind of detail work architecture had around the turn of the century, the last one. And I love modern appliances too!
Very nicely kept up. How much is original?
I’m not sure since I haven’t actually been in it yet. We asked a friend to check it out, after finding it online. The kitchen was remodeled in the 80s but the rest looks largely untouched.
I hope it is every bit as lovely as the photos. Congratulations!
Well, that’s gorgeous!
I hope you like Chicago.
I’m glad you found a place that looks like it’s so awesome! I hope you and Rob are happy as heck there.

The typewriters should feel right at home there! Oh, Chicago. How lovely.

Let’s hope the kitties enjoy exploring their new home. I’m sorry that your moving trip doesn’t take you through Los Angeles- I’ll have to order ahead.
They’ll have a balcony. I think they’ll like that.
Rob and Mary,
Pat just emailed me this. Your new apartment is beautiful. Moving is always exciting. Hope your journey goes very well. Send us an email or call along the way. We will be in touch soon. Shawna P.S. Mary, hope you received my phone message on your birthday.

Ukrainian Village is a great Chicago neighborhood. Loved the four years I lived there and still miss it a decade later. Lots of little mom-and-pop shops, restaurants, and cafes. Quick bus ride to downtown, quick walk up to Wicker Park / Bucktown.
Oooooh. That is absolutely gorgeous! What a great find! 😀
