Yesterday I finished “Without a Summer” then went on to “Of Noble Family”. I read all five chapters in a row, and had a grand time, and am looking forward to the rest. It’s not much of a comment, but you wanted our impressions as readers and that was my reaction.
Interesting that Vincent brought up the selfish gene’s equivalent. I was a bit surprised that Jane didn’t take him to task for it, but maybe she will later.
(One spelling observation… I can’t remember how it was spelled in earlier stories, but ‘verre obscurcie’ should be ‘verre obscurci’ since the French word for ‘glass’ is of the masculine gender.)

Can you make comments on the chapters, rather than here, since you are about to head straight into spoiler territory?
Oh! My apologies. Please delete those comments.
