In honor of the upcoming Mars Curiosity Rover landing, I offer you a video with language that is not safe for work, but I think is pretty accurate for what is actually running through people’s heads.
Also, it makes me laugh.
Is anyone else staying up to watch the live feed of the Mars Curiosity Rover landing? I say live, knowing that it will be delayed by transit from Mars. TRANSIT FROM MARS. omg. Mars.
I stayed up. What impressed me was the number of *women* that turned out to watch live in company… (we have a geeky coffeehouse up here that showed it on their projector screen…. it was *packed*, at 2230 on a school night.
Space is *exciting* again! Can’t wait to see what’s next… maybe be a part of it?
I’m jealous of the coffee house experience. But you shouldn’t be surprised that women are interested in science. I mean… kind of a myth, that.
I had to get up for work so staying up wasn’t an option, but I’d never seen this video and it rocks. If I had been in that lander, that’s exactly what I would have said.
