Hm. The video’s depiction of the construction of the “side drawer” (starting around 1:48), seems wrong to me. Now, if the side drawer is BELOW the poppy-outty-bit (and not part of it, as the video suggests) then I am willing to buy the claim that “whether the desk was open or closed, items were accessible.” Otherwise, shenanigans. Not possible due to the position of the front legs.

Actually, upon carefully rewatching the video, I see that the drawer *IS* below the poppy-outy-bit. Never mind. As you were.
