Happy Birthday, Alethea! 1-11-11

My friend Alethea Kontis‘s birthday is today, 1-11-11 and I scheduled this to post at 11:11, for good measure. For her birthday, she’s asked everyone to post a picture of themselves wearing a tiara.

So, here’s me, sporting the Campbell tiara back in 2008.

I wish you a very, very happy birthday, Princess Alethea.  May the day be full of joy and the writing muses treat you with great kindness.

Also, I hope that there’s lots of sparkles. And maybe a rainbow.  No ponies though. They bite.

Are you going to play too? Everyone looks good in tiaras.

  1. A few years ago, and just ahead of the ‘princess’ craze, my younger sister decided that she needed a tiara to properly celebrate her birthday. Since Disneyland is just up the road, it is one of the places that we shopped- returning again and again in a (vain) search for appropriately sparkly headgear. A year or so later, tiaras were everywhere! We are convinced that our many queries convinced them that there was a demand for tiaras, so they started producing them.

  2. You are all fabulous, thank you! There was freezing rain here…I’m positive there was a rainbow somewhere. I was certainly smiling enough all day to cause one.

Mary, dearest — I will always be so proud that you wore the one tiara I never could. **hugs** xox
