Spending an hour after I get home from work to clean out a list of porn from my site is not my idea of a good time. It was code hijacking on an otherwise perfectly good plugin. The plugin is uninstalled. I’ve reinstalled WordPress and am now going to bed.
You’ll have to wait one more day to hear about the boat and the harpy.
Edited to add: The compromised plug-in seemed to be PodPress.
Oh, geez, Mary – sorry to hear about the trouble? Care to share which plugin it was so the rest of us can blacklist it? It’s never fun finding out about plugins with security vulnerabilities…
Oh dear – which plug-in was it Mary? I think I use quite a lot of the same ones as you!
Sorry, I should have mentioned it. It seemed to have come in through PodPress.
Huh, that bodes ill. A lot of folks use that one. I’ll have to drop by the website and see if it’s a known security bug.
I’m so sorry. That’s just awful! 🙁
It was deeply annoying.
Jim, the only thing I found about it was a single post from four months ago.
