The weather has finally begun to warm up. Last evening, we had a potluck with our neighbors. It was a lovely, warm, spring evening so we all got together in the common courtyard to chat and hang out.
This courtyard is one of the things I love about our apartment. There are two building which open onto the courtyard, ours and an identical building. There are four apartments in each building, so eight total. Everyone is really lovely and it’s nice to be neighborly.
Last year we only managed to do one of these potlucks, but we all liked it so much that we wanted to do more this year. Last night we also discovered that we have a common love of croquet AND there’s a croquet set in our basement. I forsee some summer evenings with cocktails and croquet on the lawn.
I thought a potluck dinner on the lawn is a picnic. But I guess not. That would be a potluck LUNCH on the lawn.
Well, we’ve got tables and chairs and a picnic seems to involve blankets and sitting on the ground.
