The last rumor we had heard suggested that the start date was being pushed back until March. It’s been frustrating trying to make plans. But today! Thora, from LazyTown, called and said that we will be starting in January. She said we’ll start shortly after the New Year. Hurrah.
I went down to Westry Winery with Rob to help with the bottling line. This was my first time working on an assembly line and boy, it was as dull as one might expect. My job was to put the capsules on the top of the bottle. This is the piece of foil that goes
I worked a double on the boat yesterday. The second cruise was for a 60th birthday party. The birthday boy’s wife gave every appearance of being a trophy wife. I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was a May/December romance, except that he hit on me twice. Once at the end

The Harvest Vine: “Contemporary Cuisine from the Basque Country After my audition last night, Rob and I went out with our friend MaryClaire to this fabulous restaurant. The food was so good that conversation had to stop everytime a new dish came to the table. Because it was a tapas restaurant, we had many, many
That went surprisingly well. When I finished, the agent said, “Well. I wish I had seen you first. You would have set the bar for everyone else.” And went on to talk about the way folks couldn’t handle the monitor and the puppetry. I sort of knew that something like that would happen. At national

I can’t believe it. Strange Horizons just wrote to say they want to buy Portrait of Ari at pro-rates! I’m beside myself with excitement–really, it takes two of me to express my joy fully. Here’s the letter. Dear Mary Robinette Kowal, We’re pleased to accept your story “Portrait of Ari” for publication in Strange Horizons,
I didn’t have to be on the boat until late afternoon, so I spent the morning singing and trying to sound like I was a two-year old fairy. Thankfully, Rob was out of the house otherwise I think the cuteness factor might have sent him over the edge.
