I got a big batch of mail from the U.S. today. I got my copies of Apex Digest, which was a lot of fun. The folks in the green room are reading it and making various horrified faces. It’s fun. At the opposite end of the writing spectrum, I also got my official acceptance letter
Wired News: You Dirty, Healthy Rat Gritty rats and mice living in sewers and farms seem to have healthier immune systems than their squeaky clean cousins that frolic in cushy antiseptic labs, two studies indicate. The lesson for humans: Clean living may make us sick. The studies give more weight to a 17-year-old theory that

Today was busy. I did some live hand work which honestly feels like it happened yesterday. Partly I’m disoriented because we were shooting parts of three different episodes today. This doesn’t usually happen, but did today because of complicated factors involving setups and I don’t know what all. Whenever we do more than one episode

Tonight I went to see Litla Hryllings Búðin at the Icelandic Opera. Yep. Little Shop of Horrors in Icelandic. Now, I’ve done Little Shop a few times in my life and at this point have the thing memorized. This made it fairly easy to follow. The set design was really good, it looked like a

Today was long, but good. One of the puppets had to throw this thing, which was challenging but not impossible with live hands. There were a limited number of configurations in which it could happen, but we knew that going into it and were planning on using the easiest of those options. Then, of course,
