This is a banner weekend.
I’ve just been cast as Peter in Peter and the Wolf. It’s a workshop production put on in joint collaboration with Terry OReilly, a long time member of Mabou Mines, and a Chinese puppet company– Guangxi Puppet Art Troupe with live music performed by Matrix Music.
Performances are April 18, 19 and 20 at the Abrams Art Center. I’ll post details and of course rehearsal updates as we go.
Congratulations! I love Peter and the Wolf!
WOW! The great news just doesn’t stop! Congrats!
You are on one serious roll, my friend.
You deserve every second.
🙂
Dag nabbit! I leave NYC on the 16th! Oh, how I would LOVE to bring Rebecca and see you perform!
Grrr… frustration.
I know we will miss a beutiful show. Congratulations,

I will make serious efforts to see that you get to see a rehearsal.
Wow! That’s awesome, Mary!
Seriously, what’s next? Oscar? Nobel? Pulitzer? Starring role in The Producers? Running for Senate?
Congrats!
I look forward to the upcoming book “Success the Mary Robinette Kowal Way.” Whatever it is you’re doing, it’s working… 😉
Seriously, though, Congratulations! And what better way to celebrate than with cool new LJ icons?
Will this be a “kid friendly”, Peter & the Wolf?
If so, if tickets are available, I might be heading down there for a day trip with the kidlings. If not, I might be going by myself. 🙂
It is a kid-friendly production without all that icky adult retelling.
Now, that I think about it, my previous comment looks pretty stupid, but then again,I have heard of outlandish ‘retellings’ before. For all I know, Peter could be on drugs or something, and the wolf afraid of his own vulnerability takes out his aggression in singles bars. 🙂
So, yeah. Just askin.

Thanks all!
Congratulations! That’s terrific. I will definitely want to check out that show, so please keep us posted on the details.
Will do! I just got word that my puppet will arrive from China on April 6th. I can’t wait to see it.
Wow! Marvelous news! Again! Very cool puppet gig, you Campbell nominee you!
It should be a lot of fun.
