My computer has been cranky for the last couple of months and I knew that the easiest way to get it running smoothly was just to do a factory restore. It’s like getting a new computer. But… this time I’m going to bite the bullet and upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.
If I disappear for a couple of days, send help and bring a machete.
You won’t regret the upgrade. Windows 7 is a far superior OS, and I haven’t yet had any major problems with an installation, especially a clean install.
When Windows is up and running, I highly recommend using Ninite (http://ninite.com/) to reinstall all the miscellaneous programs you’ll need (Flash, browser, antivirus, etc). It’ll save you a ton of time.
I’m impressed that it has the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which just checked my programs and appliances for compatability. Nice feature that.
