I’m at a Codex writer’s mini-conference in Murfreesboro, TN this weekend. I had planned on driving back to Chattanooga tonight, but several of the other writers are having horrible travel karma.

My share of the travel karma, was fairly mild. I arrived, got out of the car to say “hello” and the door swung shut behind me. Then it automatically locked. With my keys inside and the groceries for the dinner which I had volunteered to cook.

Fortunately, AAA came out quickly and all is well now. The curried vegatable pilaf is made, the salad is prepped…and the other writers are stranded by snow or delayed flights. But I’m having a great time talking with Steve Savile. (Aletha Kontis, who is hosting, is out trying to deal with her new car.)

  1. Murfreesboro is a terrific place; beautiful location. I worked a couple of summers at a Christian camp out there and loved it the whole time. Enjoy the scenery if you get the chance.
