Home again, Home again

I got home at 9:00 this morning. The two shows yesterday went poorly, although the audiences loved them, but they were what I expected from the Friday night show. Dropped lines, skipped scenes, botched numbers…it was still fun, but only because the most of the kids were so earnest about what they were doing. That and the fact that Richard, the kid doing the voice of the plant, was on the ball. He knew his lines cold and knew how to work with me. He may not have had a trained voice, but he was a total professional.

Anyway, after the last show I helped with strike simply because my ride had to work strike. I was exhausted and soaked with sweat. The only thing I wanted to do was get in a shower or soak in the tub. I finally got to leave when the director left to go to Denny’s to meet some of the cast and their parents. I forgot that I was in L.A. where people think nothing of driving forty-five minutes. So, by the time we finished at Denny’s and got back to the house, it was 3 a.m. I had to leave at 4:45 to get to the airport on time.

I’ve had a nice nap. Rob has given me a back rub and made brownies. Life is good.
