Eve at work

Eve came in to work with me so she could see how we do the show and what the set looks like. That turned out to be a mistake. Although I had arranged to have another puppeteer cover me while Eve and I went to the Blue Lagoon, of course I wound up working. It would have been nice to go, but Eve swears she had fun watching.

Rob took her to the airport while I was attached to the Mayor. Hopefully, she has safe travels on her way home.

  1. Yes, I did have safe travels home, as well as a splendid time visiting Rob and Mary in Iceland. I can heartily recommend a trip to all of you Kowal fans out there contemplating one. We enjoyed beautiful weather and breathtaking vistas of a landscape that seems simultaneously both lunar and pre historic. Needless to say, Mary is a splendid hostess who spent all of her free time ensuring that I got to all the highlights. She even arranged a spectacular display of the Northern Lights for our trip back from the glacier! But seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more humbled by or connected to our planet than during this trip. Go visit these wonderful people in this wonderful place. Oh, and bring bagels…

  2. p.s. amazingly, I seem to be having no jet lag either! as I write this just after dinner in Portland, I realize it’s about 5a.m. in Reykjavik, where I was “on schedule” just a day and a half ago…

That’s astounding. I don’t think I’ve had any guests who adapted as easily as you did.
