Deeply moved and happy

I watched the elections last night and am still in a state of happy disbelief.  I remember when a friend of mine, way back in the primaries, said that she was interested in Barack Obama. I’d never heard of him at that point, but I remember saying, “Are you crazy? The U.S. will never elect someone named Obama.”  I’m so happy to have been utterly wrong.

I just ran across this interview with Colin Powell where he asks people to support Obama.  He talks about how he cried when an anchor said “It’s over. He’s won it.”  And then General Colin Powell cries again.

  1. I too have never ever been happier to be wrong. In the beginning, I didn’t believe we would be able to elect a black man named Obama. I’m delighted to be wrong, so utterly wrong!!!!
