Buster Keaton

In comments on another subject entirely, Samantha Henderson reminded me of how awesome Buster Keaton is.  Just in case, you don’t know already, here…

  1. Wonderful! The stuff he could do physically was astounding. In one of the gags in “The Playhouse” he is pretending to be a trained chimp — you can see two shots of it in the montage — and he walks like a chimp with the knees bent so his arms seem really long, and makes it look so easy you forget the human body shouldn’t be able to do that.

  2. Spencer and I once got to watch a Buster Keaton film with a live piano player. It honestly was a life changing experience. I’ve always wanted to do it again.

  3. This was great, Mary. Thanks for sharing. I forget, sometimes, how much I loved the Pixies, so that was a fun little piece of serendipity.
