Thursday night I went to the Cedar Hills Powell’s to hear J. A. Pitts read his debut novel Black Blade Blues
. I’d read the ARC of it and was very glad that his book tour brought him to my town. The book crosses Norse mythology with the world of low-budget films and blacksmithing. The main character has two separate careers. She’s a blacksmith and a props builder for films. I have a lot of sympathy for her. It was a fun evening. I picked up a copy of the book for my niece.
