Today we drove up to Þingvellir (pronounced Thingvetleer) to see the Oxráfoss and the place where the North American and European continental plates are separating. On this excursion Emily came with us and she and Eve were appropriately astounded.
We continued our tour by heading through the land of a thousand potholes to go to Geysir and watch the exploding water.
Then it was on to Gullfoss for another example of Geology in Action.
After all of that, we came back to ReykjavÃÂk and met Julie at Siggi Hall for dinner. Delicious.
Oh thanks for a marvelous tour of Icelandic scenes. Bravo!
I remember the land of a thousand potholes. I think I can find a picture of a few hundred of them if you forgot to take pictures on this trip. I’m sure Eve is enjoying this.
The land of a thousand potholes was very funny. We spent a lot of time laughing as I tried to dodge them.
