We went into Chicago today so that Rob could have a meeting at City Winery Chicago, his new job, and so that we could pick up the keys for the apartment. This is the first time either of us had been in the apartment, so it was pretty exciting.
It is every bit as beautiful as the photos made it look. And… AND it has stained glass windows that weren’t in the rental photos. Behold!
This looks out onto our balcony and is likely to be my office. Swoon. I say to you, swoon.
Tomorrow we actually move in. We didn’t get the keys until after 5:00pm and you can’t park a truck overnight in Chicago on the street so… tomorrow is move-in day.
Did I mention we’re on the second floor? I’ve already scouted out the local pizza place. And gelato.
Ah, Chicago. Home of wonderful pizza. And Rick Bayless’s restaurants.
Absolutely gorgeous. Man, all that just fills me with glee. 😀 Best office EVER.
Moving house – especially long distance is always challenging, but it’s also one of the most fun and exciting things you can do – legally. Here in Estonia we would bring bread and salt when going to visit a friend in a new home for the 1st time. So here is a virtual gift of bread salt and spring flowers.
Happy new home.
Martha, my grandmother taught me to bring bread and honey… “so you should never go hungry, and life should always be sweet” in your new home. Pizza and gelato would seem to cover those bases pretty well too.
are you in wicker park? i am getting wicker park vibes from this apartment.
Close. Ukranian Village
Sweet! That looks like a great spot for writing.
