I’m a visual person, so I find charts like the one that chartjunk put together enormously helpful.
I’m not seeing the tax increase that McCain said Obama was giving me. Maybe he’s just worried about the one that happens for the people up at the top of that thin, thin line.
Maybe McCain thinks we all make at least $600,000 a year. And that we all have at least 5 houses.
Better to have five houses than to be elite.
Excellent chart. My thanks, I’m going to pass it along.
Mary – please don’t try to confuse people with logic. It’s like trying to teach a pig to sing. 🙂
My understanding is that Wilbur had an excellent singing voice.
One thing Obama fails to understand, perhaps, is that taxing the rich never hurts the rich. It only hurts those below them who end up paying for those tax increases through increased costs of goods and services.
Better, I think, to give tax breaks to everyone–something in between McCain and Obama’s plan. Something that looks more like a straight bar reaching from the top of the page to the bottom.
The goal isn’t to hurt anyone. It’s to spread the burden between those who have and have not.
Hi Mary,
Thanks for this. I had to stare at it for awhile to make sense of it. And then it popped into focus and I was like, “Yeah, nice”.
The visuals help me more than I can say.
