Not as bad

The wiring was not in as bad a state as I’d feared. The old cloth wiring had just been pushed above the crossbar so it looked like we had bare wires in the ceiling. When I pulled the crossbar, and a little plaster down, it was easy to snug the cloth insulation back into place and secure it with electrical tape. I’ve got the lamp in place, but need to wait for Rob to come home to actually wire it. I don’t know where his volt meter is or it would be attached and lighting the home already. Sorry, no photo yet, because the foyer is too dark without a light.

I can, however, give you an update on the pantry floor. I have half of it uncovered, but the portion remaining will probably take as long as the first section because the wood is in such poor condition. Ah well, I just have to focus on how beautiful it will be when it is finished.
