That was the most fun ever. Borderlands is an awesome bookstore staffed by people who love the genre and are just plain fun. We had 120+ people come to hear us read and it was a blast.
At the end of the evening, we did improvisational science-fiction from an outline Scalzi came up with. I’m still grinning from the evening. It was like being a rock star.
It was _great_ to have met you last night! I’m now going to try and binge on your fiction 🙂
Lovely meeting you as well. Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you so much for coming out our way and bringing Scalzi along with you. ;^) Enjoyed the heck out of your readings and hope that you will return soon.
For those who have never had the pleasure of hearing you in person: Ms. Kowal has the most amazingly realistic scream — the sort which will make you flinch even when you know it’s coming. (I’m surprised that Ripley, the resident hairless cat, wasn’t clinging to the ceiling.)
Thank you for the scream compliment! I actually have done stunt screaming for radio, when the actress is less than blood-curdling.
That was a whole bunch of fun, even from the far back of the room. I’m looking forward to reading the copy of Shimmer I picked up as well.
It was nice chatting with you and I’m delighted you picked up a copy of Shimmer.
Thanks again for coming out to see us here in the Bay Area. It was a wonderful reading and I’m glad I could attend. I’ll be waiting to see more of your work in print soon.
I tried to take some pictures; there’s one available that I took (I think) while you were reading your first piece.
Oo! Thanks for the photo. I’m glad you enjoyed the show.
Thanks so much for coming and thanks for bringing the tiara! You should know I will be practicing reading in a phone sex voice, for which the boyfriend will be in your debt 😉
Ha! that is the best compliment, ever.
The gorgous photo of yourself so kindly
supplied by Jared ought to be on the
book jacket of your next best seller!
Wish I could have been there. Sounds like a blast.
And you are a rock star.
