I talked to Dr. Thomas Wagner, who works for NASA, as part of my research for a new science fiction novel set on Mars. The fourth Lady Astronaut novel, The Martian Contingency, takes place on Mars about ten seconds after the end of Fated Sky. Of course something goes wrong, because it’s a novel, and I wanted to know how NASA would handle it in order to give as much science in my fiction as possible.
