David, the puppeteer who plays the mayor, is Jewish and his wife sent him a menorah so he could celebrate Hanukah here. I was looking for the prayers for him (he’d forgotten one) and stumbled upon Lighting this page. I thought David was in trouble, at first, because he’s been lighting the candles at work,

Shall we go back to a new short story once a week? This is something I wrote a while ago, but I’m reworking it to submit. Here are the first thirteen lines. Let me know if you want to read more. Some Other Day By Mary Robinette Kowal           The summer

The weather has been really blustery and rangeing from rain to snow. Today I can see blue sky if I look straight up, but the clouds are moving so quickly that I don’t know how long it will last.
I still don’t have pictures of the people, but this is one of the flower arrangements that I made for my Christmas party.
I went to Yoga this morning for the first time in two weeks. Agony. I mean, it’s only a sort of mild pain from stretching muscles that don’t believe they should move farther than they do. But it’s good for me, builds character.

His flight was delayed, but he has arrived safe and sound. We’re having quite a bit of snow tonight; there was none this morning and now everything is covered. I’m on will-notify tomorrow, which means that I might have most of the day off.
My brother, Steve, gets in at 10:40 tonight. I’m starting to wonder if I’ll be able to pick him up at the airport. I should have told him to bring a good book, because we’ll be hanging out at the studio a lot tomorrow. Still haven’t worked yet today. I have, however, written another chapter

We weren’t called in until eleven o’clock today. It’s now 6:30 and we’ve done nothing. I think Þor did some work with Ziggy earlier, but the rest of us are twiddling our thumbs. On the plus side this gave me time to drop my laundry off at the cleaners. I normally do my own laundry
