I spent the day hanging out shooting the breeze with Ron Binion, an old puppeteer friend of mine. We were meeting for lunch and then wound up talking shop for hours. Afterwards, I met up with Sue B. who is heading to Italy. Now I’m back in Katonah.

I got up at 5:00 this morning and Rob drove me to the airport for my 6:45 flight. The poor guy has an awful head cold. It started coming on yesterday and is in full swing now. Hopefully I’ll survive this trip without catching it. During boarding in Portland, they sent me back to Security
I had lunch with Sue, worked on the last of the Home Tour things, and made scones–not in that order. I have to pack because I get on a plane for NYC tomorrow morning. I’ll be back on the 20th of May. Yes. I will continue to update the travelogue while I’m gone.
Rob has introduced me to an older British series called Danger UXB about a WWII bomb disposal squad. It’s quite good, but I think the main reason he likes it is because the main character drives an MG-TD. Every time the car comes on screen, Rob sits forward and holds his hand to his chest
Today Rob and I did household stuff. He painted our dining room windows and I mowed the lawn. In the evening we went down to visit David and Amy for an evening of sushi and wine. It was really good to see them since they hadn’t been able to make it for the champagne tasting.

I spent a fair portion of the day practising in front of the camera. It’s not particuarly fun, because there’s no one to interact with…it’s more like doing etudes. I turn the camera on, hook it up to the TV so I can have a monitor and then practise running the puppet back and forth.
I helped Jodi today with his website. He’s ambitious enough to want to learn how to maintain it instead of just having me set it up for him. We’ll see how much he retains. Part of the challenge of doing this was that he’s on Mac and I’m PC. Things are different in Mac land,

I just found out that I sold my short story Rampion to The First Line! This is my third sale. And on the same day, I found out that I won the latest round of the Liberty Hall Flash Fiction challenges. No money for this one, but it was a lot of fun.
