Sarah had to run to a doctor’s appointment last night and asked if I could do Trixie while she was gone. Of course I said yes. The kids were all just supposed to run through the screen, so it should have been very easy. Naturally, that changed. Trixie was the first character into frame, and so Magnus added a line. “Hey, Mayor.” Then I had to run her directly at the camera, just missing it by passing on its left.
That went fine until–Hauk, who is filming behind the scenes footage, decided to plant himself with a camera right in my path. Because of the nature of the shot, I didn’t see him until I got there, and had to do a funny little dance to keep from tripping. Trixie looked spastic.
Magnus was going to buy the take, but I asked him if I could do it again. He almost let it pass, looked at it again and agreed with me that it needed to be redone. He said, “I know what the problem is, you need to–”
I actually interupted him and said, “The problem is that Hauk was on the floor. I tripped.” He laughed, “That is a problem,” and then proceeded to give me advice anyway. The next take was good. Whew.
