As you know, I’m not running for re-election as SFWA VP next year. I put out a call, hoping other people would step up and I’m happy to see several people volunteer to run for office. Right now, I want to draw your attention to one in particular, because I called her and asked her to run.
Rachel Swirsky is running for SFWA VP. If you’re a SFWA member, you can read Rachel’s platform in the private discussion forums, which I encourage you to do.
Now, if this were a Giant Political Campaign on the National Stage, this is where I would say that I endorse her run for vice president.
I think she’s smart, a heckuva talented writer, and she’s in touch with what’s happening with the industry. As important, she’s enthusiastic about helping SFWA and its members grow during the ever changing climate of the publishing industry.
She also works well with Scalzi, which is important when managing SFWA’s hyper-intelligent were-badgers.
So I’m Mary Robinette Kowal and I endorse this candidate.
