With only a minor, voluntary delay, I arrived home last night at 9:30. My flight was oversold, so I volunteered to go on the next one which was only an hour later. They were offering $500 dollar vouchers, and bumped me to first class. Wouldn’t you have volunteered too? Rob met me at the airport;
I’m sitting in the Newark Airport an my way back to Portland via Dallas. The trip was good, but I will be very, very glad to be home. Rob is picking me up at 8:41 this evening and I’m planning on turning our phone off as soon as we get home. I want to spend
We closed the workshop and everything went great. Chris is doing a rewrite of the script. Emily and I will begin to design in earnest after that.
Chris Parks took us all out to dinner at Conte’s. Dave and I are going to unload the truck of some items and then meet up with the rest of the cast for an evening of Fisherman, Djinn and Tonics.
We’re done at four o’clock today. I’m in shock. I don’t know what I’ll do, besides return phone calls from all the people I’ve been ignoring for the past month.
The workshop performances of Arabian Nights continue to go well. I’m happy with the twist that I added to the design last night and I showed my rough sketches to the gang. They all seem to like them. We’ll see if it works as I start to get into the nitty gritty details. Oh. Mom
Mom and Dad seem to have picked up my travel karma. They had a cancelled flight from Charlotte, N.C. The next plane got onto the runway and then turned around and came back because of weather. The next plane kept being delayed and was finally cancelled. They called me at 8:00 this morning to say

Mom and Dad have headed for home. I didn’t get to see them off because I had to get up super early to go to the first workshop performance of Arabian Nights. It went well, but is making us rethink a number of things. I’m going to spend this evening doing some serious work on
Our friend Kuang Yu treated us to a meal at her favorite restaurant in China Town. The food was delightfully good.
We had a grand time at the Christo installation. Much to my surprise, I would highly recommend seeing this. As much as the delight of the fabric in the wind, I enjoyed seeing all the New Yorkers walking through the gates smiling. Here’s Dad and Mom as we entered Central Park.
I actually have today off. I’m so excited. We have a room at the Roosevelt Hotel which is oh-so-grand. But after sofas, airmattresses, and actor nap rooms, any real bed is exciting for me. We’ve just had breakfast and are off to see Christo’s new exhibition, The Gates.
