Network Migration

So, sometime on Friday evening my website will go down as they migrate the system to a new server. The process is supposed to take 24 to 48 hours, but I’m not sure how much of that will affect me. So please, no phone calls wondering if I’m dead when the site vanishes.

Covering Dani

Today I covered Dani’s head with fabric and put the hair on her. I say hair, but really I mean tulle, which is pretending to be hair. I’ll upload a photo tomorrow. I took some tonight, but it’s too dark to get a good shot.

Service Star

The Portland Spirit managers give out service stars to employees who have done good work. So, I was awarded one, along with two tickets to Regal Cinemas. Delightful thought, alas, I can not take Rob to Regal without making the poor boy suffer. The commercials, the radio, the screen aspect ratio… Oh the awful tyranny

Foam, glorious foam

We actually did the foam work last week, but that was while my computer was wonky, so you’re just getting to see the pictures now. Basically, I’ve constructed Keenan’s head out of two types of foam, using different densities depending on what I need them to do. After I do that, I install the lower

Visiting hours

Rob came home last night, unexpectedly, which was delightful. I say it was unexpected, but he did give me an hour of notice so I had a chance to make sure there weren’t any dishes in the sink. Harvest is definitely in full swing, although the rains are giving them trouble. We’re hoping I’ll be

Why the prolonged silence

I’ve been having some trouble with my computer for the past week. Basically, I got hit with a host of spyware and trojans that took forever to get off my machine. It meant that going online was a slow process if I could get on at all. Sure, the computer was connected, but it was

Pizza and a movie

Rob and I went to the Celsi’s last night for pizza and a movie. I had ordered Strings from Netflix as part of a trial membership so that was our selection. It is visually stunning. The world-building is unbelievable, but there are places where the sheer bombastic melodrama overwhelms the story. Even so, it is

Making puppets

I’ve picked up a gig building a new set of puppets for the Portland chapter of Kids on the Block, which wants to upgrade the kind of puppets they use. I’ve begun the construction process. We started with drawings and I’ve made clay sculptures of those. For the next step, I cover the clay sculptures

Rob visits

I think I might have neglected to mention that Harvest preperation has begun, so Rob has been away at the winery since Monday. He came home tonight around 8:30 and will be gone again by 5:30 tomorrow morning. I’ve missed him.

Life is a caberet

It’s not often that I say, “I had a really great day on the boat.” But tonight’s cruise was a lot of fun. I worked lunch, which was fine. It was a very, very easy cruise. Then dinner was a blast. It was a tour group of retirees. They were in town from Ashland to
