I’ve just backed up my computer and it’s going into the shop for some minor repairs. The DVD/CD drive stopped working last year and I haven’t had enough down time to take it in. The shop tells me that they’ll have my computer for five or six days. We have Rob’s computer, of course, but
I’m sitting in the Portland airport and just realized that I left my spare computer batteries at home. I have a total of three batteries. This one has two hours of life. I’m figuring between this and my palm pilot I ought to be able to write for a good chunk of the five hour
I woke up during the night with a toothache, which was Just Not Fair. At all. I tried sleeping anyway, I tried taking ibuprofen. Nada. In fact, it got worse, radiating through my ear and sending shafts of steel straight through my brain and out the top of my head. Visions of root canal opened

We have a Wedgewood stove from the 40s or 50s which is built like a Packard. It’s heavy, solid metal and the best stove I’ve ever cooked on. Look at that–double ovens, a griddle and the burners. Oh my. They each have two sets of flame, so you can turn the heat way down low
Rob and I spent much of the day in the studio. It went reasonably well, but then, for some reason, the studio computer decided that it didn’t want to talk to my computer. Everything is safely saved, but it didn’t like my flash drive, despite having used it before.
Oh huzzah! Oh glorious day! My old scanner would not work with my new computer and I’ve been going mad trying to get work done without one. I just got it. I did some research and decided that I wanted an HP Scanjet 4670, and turned to ebay where I lost ten different auctions trying
I’ve been troubled for awhile because my left shoulder, the one I hurt when I fell down the stairs last year, has begun bothering me again. I couldn’t figure out why. I hadn’t had another injury. My lifestyle is much less stressful than the things I did on the show. And yet…something that I was

I think it is extremely unlikely that Grandma will read this, as she doesn’t have a computer at her house, but I’m so proud of her that I like to brag. What might I brag about, you ask? She is 102 years old today, and still lives by herself. She’s still sharp and fun to

Tuesday, October 20, 1998Day Thirteen Sorry about the hiatus in updates, but I have the power cord for my computer again. A quick summary of Tuesday. I thought I had fixed Sungura and he was mostly better, but of course, broke again. I just don’t have the right tools on tour to fix him. But

Modern Mechanix » Typewriter Spaces Words To Fill Lines Really. What girl wouldn’t want one of these? Such a cool gadget. Although, it does make me very conscious of all the retyping people used to have to do. I dimly remember this from when I was typing on our IBM Selectric, but we had some

I’ve been having trouble with my internet in the room and complained multiple times to the hotel. They sent their engineer up–who announced as he came into the room, “I’m not particularly computer savvy.” Oh, how true that was. He poked at buttons on the computer and said, “I’ll have to close these windows,” and

I’ve been having some trouble with my computer for the past week. Basically, I got hit with a host of spyware and trojans that took forever to get off my machine. It meant that going online was a slow process if I could get on at all. Sure, the computer was connected, but it was

I teach Stagecraft at this summer camp every year. This year will be challenging because our enrollment is way down. Instead of two classes with fifteen students. I have one class with seven students–no wait, that’s four students. No. Ten students. I don’t know how many I have because they keep pulling students out to

Well, Other Hand Productions now has a new front page to replace the one eaten by nasty computer code. I will slowly redo the remaining pages on the website to match the new aesthetic, which I like better. So, there is a silver lining. Meanwhile, my computer came back from the shop today. Interestingly, when
