Being a BBQ mule

Friday was a perfectly lovely day. Puppet building and writers visiting.  I spent most of the day working on the Loki puppet for Odd and the Frost Giants, but took a break to hang out with two of the GoHs from MidSouthCon. Conveniently Kurt Busiek and Monte Cook both live in the Pacific Northwest.

As it happens we were all given Corky’s BBQ sauce in our gift baskets at MidSouthCon (which I still need to write a con report for).  Monte only had carry-on luggage so didn’t have a way to get it back to Portland.  I offered to be a mule and carry it back with my puppets, since I’d be in his neck of the woods for NorWescon.  But Kurt pointed out that there was a new bar in Portland called the Lovecraft. It became obvious that the BBQ mule exchange needed to happen there.

Loads of fun hanging out with those two. We exchanged the magic sauce and dark secrets.
