Reading “My New Leg”

For the past couple of days I’ve been reading My New Leg, which is a blog about the process of ordering a new prosthesis. This is wonderfully written, up-close-and-personal, and utterly fascinating. I’ve linked to the first post on the blog.

  1. Wow, this is really fascinating stuff. It makes me think so deeply about what my foot is actually doing when I take a step. Of course, it is right up your alley too, sort of the ultimate “mechanism”. Thanks for the link.

  2. A couple of years ago, I met a prosthetics maker and we had a really fascinating conversation about the crossover between puppetry and artificial limbs, which made me think that if I ever wanted a second career, I should look there.
