I know I’m a little late to the game, but I’ve finally added tags to my website. Oooo….
We also, if you are inclined to comment, have added some toys to the comment section. If you look right above the comment box, you’ll see a button with two arrows on it. Click that and you’ll get a bank of buttons that will make it easy to add formatting to your post. There’s even a dictionary.

This popped up on my RSS reader while I was engaged in adding tags to all my old blog posts — I recently added taggability to my blog. On the one hand, I’m super-jazzed, as I love tags and not having them has been giving me hives. On the other hand, my blog is five years and one week old. That’s a LOT of backlog to taggify.
Are you tagging your archives?
I got the Simple Tags plugin for WordPress, which has an autotag option to tag the archives. It didn’t do a bad job, though, if I were to do it again, I would have waited until I had tagged more new entries so that it had a more representative pool of tags to pull from.
Ah, nifty. I like to choose my own tags, as well, so I guess it’s good I’m tagging the whole thing myself like a big control-freak.
How did you generate the tag cloud? I’ve been looking for a way to track which topics/tags I use the most heavily on my blog.

don’t know how much use you make of feeds, but here’s a handy plug-in:

you do need to burn your feed through Feedburner, though, but this plugin works very smoothly in redirecting everything to Feedburner.

Zemanta works nicely for tags, it reads your post and suggests tags you can use in addition to ones you manually apply, but it’s a pain in the arse program to use.

The plugin I’m using for the tags actually did a fine job, I just didn’t have enough tags entered initially. And it’s a dead easy plugin to use.
And smilies? Feh. Writers don’t need no stinking emoticons.

My dad keeps asking for one! I’m looking at a plug-in that will allow commenters to edit their own comments. I’m constantly amazed at how many typos creep in between hitting “save” and when it appears on the site.
Yes, it’s amazing what Murphy and his little demons can do in that short amount of time.
