Tonight we all went to see A Prairie Home Companion: Iceland from American Public Media at the National Theater. I so love this show. While it is definitely a radio show–there are no “extras” for the live audience–seeing it with a live audience brings an extra joy to the show. Listen to the show this Saturday and see if you can hear me laughing.

Really bad timing:-( We are hosting a party for Emily Sewell starting half an hour after the show starts and it is unlikely that we will be ready enough to listen even to the beginning of the show. You know how loud our kitchen is so we can’t even listen while we work.
Ya den…the book,ECCENTRIC ISLANDS by author Bill Holm was a gift from us to the Iceland soujourners, Rob and Mary Kowal at Christmas. So we are pleased to read that this author, Bill Holm was a guest on Prairie Home Companion in Reykjavik this week. As a native of Lake Woebegone myself, reports from the Land O’Lakes are always cherished. Uff da!
I am, of course, extremely jealous. But the real question is, can we hear Rob smile?

Actually, Rob was laughing out loud.
Dad, OPB streams the broadcast and repeats it on Sunday at 2:00 Pacific.
We love Prairie Home Companion — it was our main entertainment for a while when we didn’t have a TV. (Joy is, of course, from MN.) I’m glad you enjoyed the show; we’ve always wanted to go to one.
If you check their website you can see when they are coming to your town. It’s worth seeing.
