House Moving 3/2/06
Although my digital camera is in the shop, we still have a film camera and I took the exposed film to a one hour place that put the pictures on disk.ÂÂ

This is how far they had the garage by the time we got film in the camera. That is the driveway up to Gill’s old house in the foreground.

The main house. No that guy is not holding up the house. The vertical planks nailed to the outside of the house are to keep the chinking from falling out and hitting someone. The plywood on the ground is to keep the wheels from sinking to the axles. The white tarp on the near corner of the roof is where the pecan tree hit the house and broke the gable (an old story).

OK, do you see a problem getting by that cedar tree?

This was the solution.
They finished backing the house up through the gap and then started pulling it forward and parked in on some hard dry ground until the next day. Those pictures are on another roll which I haven’t had developed yet. James and Cindy came over to watch from when they started pulling the house forward until they parked it. I had Buster on a leash and he kept walking around people just like he was trying to tangle them up.

It just seems right that there should be a picture of Buster in a blog about Buster. This is Mary, Buster, and Rob on 1/29 waiting on something to happen on the day the house first moved away from it’s foundation. The next picture is the same day and of Marilyn, Geneveve and Marvin.
