Driveway is paved

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

They packed the stone (or pug mix as they called) it on Monday and Tuesday and yesterday they paved all of the parking pads and the driveway all the way to the new road.  It took them forever to get the irregularly shaped parking pads paved.  It didn’t go very fast where they were putting new asphalt over the old driveway either, but when they hit the new part of the driveway where they had done the prep work it just flew.
They put down some tar of something before paving over the old part to sort of glue the new to the old and Buster ran right through it before I knew that it was even down.  They told me to keep him inside or on a leash to keep him from burning his feet, but this was before they started so I just let him run.  The net of this is that he has a couple of tar spots on his shoulder where he must have scratched or something and there is some tar on the kitchen floor.  They told me that baby oil will soften it up so it can be cleaned up.  I haven’t tried that yet.  I’m just going to let him shed the tar off of his shoulder.  At the rate he has been shedding, it shouldn’t be but a day or two.

Tail updates

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

As opposed to tale updates which Mary would be writing.

Buster’s tail improved and he was over the droopy stage of the medicine within about 2 days.  I tried to upload a picture but it was too big and I don’t have time to load Piccasa on my new machine to reduce it so you can see a sore tail.  Just imagine.

Coyotes not unusual I guess

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Steve sent me this link to Urban Coyotes which shows that maybe I’m overreacting to the abundance of wildlife around here.

Nothing unusual to report

I’m concerned thay you may be concerned that something is wrong since I haven’t posted anything in a while.  Just how many pictures of a dog running through the woods can you stand anyway?

Log House Bedroom 2

This is a view toward the North West corner of the back corner bedroom after the furniture and drapes have been installed.

Log House Bedroom 2 mirrow window

This is a view of the South West corner of the back corner bedroom.  Notice that the left hand window is glazed with mirrors.  That is because the sun room was added behind that wall and the window had been closed in with a piece of plywood. The window frame was still there though.

Flocked

Friday, August 4th, 2006

While I’m putting silly stuff on Buster’s blog I might as well add this.  One night last week the church youth “flocked” Mrs. Jackson’s lawn.  Marilyn made a special trip over there to take these pictures.  A few weeks ago they did it to Genevieve, but the birds didn’t have the moving wings like these do.  The birds disappear as mysteriously as they appear.Mrs Jackson and the flock

Buster is back home

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

I picked Buster up from the kennel just after 3:00 today and he is no worse for the wear it appears.  He isn’t too interested in staying out and walking with me, but I think it is because of the heat and not the invisible fence.  He wants back in the laundry room where it is air conditioned.

Buster in a kennel

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

We went to Atlanta yesterday and spent the night so we put Buster in a kennel.  The kennel closed at noon today and we didn’t get back until almost 5:00 so he has to stay until tomorrow at 3:00 when they open just for pick-ups.  They gave him a bath too so he is twice insulted.  I hope this doesn’t ruin the poor dog.
