Pictures of the back corner bedroom
Monday, December 25th, 2006This is a view toward the North West corner of the back corner bedroom after the furniture and drapes have been installed.
This is a view of the South West corner of the back corner bedroom. Notice that the left hand window is glazed with mirrors. That is because the sun room was added behind that wall and the window had been closed in with a piece of plywood. The window frame was still there though.
Log House Kitchen Floor
Monday, December 25th, 2006When Mary was visiting we decided to install a cork floor in the den and kitchen, but the day before she left (or perhaps even the day she left) she pulled up some of the stuff that was under the vinyl floor covering and found that the floor beneath that was pine and she convinced us to go back to the pine floor. This is what it looks like after being refinished. It set back the moving in date a week because the rest of the house was ready for the 3rd coat of polyurethane but the floor finisher wanted to do the 3rd coat on everything at once so he had to put two coats on the kitchen and let it harden enough to sand between coats before he could do the rest of the house. That made it so the 3rd coat only had one day to harden before we moved the furniture in. Nothing bad happened, but we were worried just the same.
Miniature Sleigh and Buster too
Sunday, December 17th, 2006This lovely Christmas tree ornament arrived in the mail about a week ago and I have been trying to get a picture of Buster sniffing it ever since, but not only am I too slow to grab the camera, but even if I have the camera in hand the camera is too slow to get in focus and charge the flash to get the picture before Buster has finished the examination.  Steve is convinced that it was custom made using Buster as the model.
Thank you Pat and Glen
Green Eyed Monster
Thursday, December 7th, 2006Dogs sniff things and Buster is no exception to that. He sniffs me when I come out the door. He sniffs me when I come back from the log house. He sniffs me when I get out of the car. He sniffs me at every opportunity. When he is sniffing other people they nearly always say that he smells their dog. Last night I went to the weekly Wednesday Night Picking and the hosts have a terrier bitch and as I was leaving I petted her and her rub up against my pants legs so Buster would have a new smell. When I got home he met me at the car as usual but when I got out he sniffed like I haven’t seen him sniff before and he kept on sniffing all the way to the house and he looked at me like he was jealous that I had petted another dog. It was more of a display than I was hoping for.  Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised because after all, when you take a flash photo of him his eyes shine a bright green.
